A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing. The health visitors are employed by Harrogate District Foundation Trust. More information can be found on the website here.
For children over, 5 there is a Healthy Child Team. The 5-19 Healthy Child Service promotes and protects the health and wellbeing of all children and young people aged 5 to 19. They work with children, young people and families to empower and enable them to make informed decisions about health, and to support them in transitioning safely and happily into adult life.
